Death from burns

Mr. Candler, coroner, held an inquest at the Alfred Hospital yesterday on the body of William Robertson, a selector, of Garfield, aged 58, who died in the institution on Tuesday from the effects of severe burns about the lower portion of the body. Robertson breakfasted witli his wife on Christmas morning, and whilst Mrs. Robertson was out attending to the poultry lie appeared to have been seized by a fit and fell into thu kitohou fire. One of his fingers was burned off and he was dreadfully charred about the thighs. Dr. Crowther deposed that death bad resulted from exhaustion. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death.
