Charlotte Hester

b. 1864
d. 1949

Nanna Bullock – Charlotte Hester (known as ‘Lottie’) was the daughter of another pioneer family who settled at Millicent in the South East of South Australia. We only know that they came from England, but have no knowledge of from what County. Grandma had five children four girls and one boy.

I remember her two sisters May and Sophie. May had a son in WW I who came back shell shocked and didn’t live long after his return. Sophie married Dr. Jim Gribble and I stayed with them at Pt Wakefield at one time. I was probably 5 or 6 at the time. Their daughter Essie was the same age as Leila and from memory was very nice. My only real memory of that visit was sitting in the back yard dunny with the door open and a snake came by looked at me and went on. My first snake shock. Being a Scot Uncle Jim liked his whiskey.
